In 2007, the CEE network proposed for the establishment of a sub-regional platform of collaboration among multiple stakeholders of SCP, based on consultation with ministries responsible in the various countries of the region.
The proposal was presented to the Minister of Environment for Czech Republic, Martin BusÃk, on the occassion of the Network's annual meeting. The Minister expressed strong support for the initiative, and agreed to take steps together with his counterparts from other countries in the region, as well as all major stakeholders, towards creating such a platform.
A meeting to launch the collaboration effort on will be held on 31 October 2008, in Prague, back to back with the European SCP meeting organised by European Commission and the Czech Ministry of Environment.
